A delicious paella cooked in a Bakewell bag in the oven. So easy, super healthy and no mess!

Paella

As a busy Mum I know that getting dinner on the table every evening can sometimes be a struggle. Whether you’ve been out at work or looking after the kids all day, we’re often left with little time to rustle up something healthy and filling that everyone will enjoy.

So, when Bakewell got in touch to see if I’d like to try out their oven bags, I was really curious to see if they could be used to save me some time and stress in the kitchen.

Paella in a bag with Bakewell oven bags

I’ve used oven bags in the past to cook joints of meat which always works well. But this time I decided to try something a little different; a quick and easy recipe that’s perfect for a midweek meal.

I chose paella as, although I love it, it can be a little laborious to cook it. It requires constant stirring and watching which isn’t always possible when I have two children also looking for my attention!

Making The Paella In A Bag

To make this paella all you need to do is to put a Large Bakewell Oven Bag into a roasting dish, add all the ingredients (except the peas – they’re added towards the end), tie the bag up and cook for 35 minutes.

Raw Paella In A Bag

By using the bags you get a delicious and perfectly cooked paella with tender and juicy chicken and chorizo. It’s healthier than normal paella as you don’t need to use any oil. And there’s nothing to wash up – the dish stays perfectly clean!

Any leftovers can be cooled in the bag and stored in the fridge or freezer and reheated in the oven or microwave. Once you’ve finished with the bag it is 100% recyclable.

What a brilliant idea! We love paella but it was always a bit of a faff to cook but used your method last night and it was so much easier to do and still tasted lovely. Thank you for posting this.
