There’s nothing better than a freshly baked bread roll. Buying fresh baguettes from the supermarket or bakery is fantastic but by the next day they’re usually past their best and just not as nice.
That’s why I love the part baked bread rolls you can buy in the supermarket. You can simply take out however many you need and cook fresh, saving the rest for another day.
We love these ones from Aldi so I thought I would try cooking them in the airfryer instead of the oven.
How Long Should I Air Fry Part Baked Bread Rolls
The instructions for baking in the oven are 200c for 8-10 minutes so I popped them in the airfryer at 200c for 5 minutes.
These are the smaller dinner sized rolls. I’ve also cooked the larger baguettes in the airfryer. I break them in half so that they will fit and cook for approximately 6-7 minutes.
The timings for the airfryer are nearly always quicker than the oven. A lot of supermarkets are now including specific airfrying times on their packaging but if not I usually aim for about 75% of the cooking time and check to see if the food is cooked.
If not then I put it back in at 1-2 minute intervals until I know the food is properly cooked.
They came out so well, I was really impressed. Super crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside.
If you haven’t tried these yet in the airfryer then do it now!
Can I Air Fryer Frozen Part Baked Bread Rolls
Yes you can! I know some supermarkets only sell part baked bread rolls frozen. Follow the same principle of roughly 75% of the oven cooking time.
If they are still undercooked at this point then cook them further at 1 minute intervals until brown and crispy.
What Can I Make With Part Baked Bread Rolls
There’s so much you can use these part baked bread rolls for. Pop them in the airfryer for a simple breakfast spread with butter and jam, peanut butter or any other favourite spread.
One of my favourite things to make with them is this this Airfryer Breakfast Roll. Everything is cooked in the airfyer, including the bacon and egg!
They also make a really tasty lunch. Fill with ham, cheese or any other fillings that your kids enjoy. For my own lunch I made a delicious filling using cooked chicken, grated cheese and buffalo sauce.
Which Air Fryer Is The Best?
There’s so many different air fryers out there on the market at the moment. Some of the big brand names are expensive but I have been using this Uten 6.5 Litre Air Fryer since last year and I love it.

Just the info I was looking for, thank you! I will be trying this at lunchtime to go with our slow cooker soup! We don’t have multiple modes (air dry/bake) so hoping it will still work.

I’m new to air fryers so just wanting to check did you cook on air dry mode or bake for the rolls please ?
Vicky says
They need to be cooked on bake mode, we popped them in the airfryer at 200c for 5 minutes. Hope this helps. Happy cooking.

It was kind of a ‘silly’ question – Can part-baked bread be done in the air fryer?
But your ‘recipie’ has been a great help and answered my query, the guide to the temperature and the time. Saved me so much trial-and-error, and waste! – Many, Many Thanks . . . .
