Frozen Smoothie Bags

For me, getting the whole family eating healthy is all in the preparation. This is even more important during the week when we’re all rushing out the door to work and school. If I’m not prepared with breakfast then we will inevitably fall back on packaged options or just plain cereal.

So I’ve teamed up with Braun to show you how, using their MultiQuick 9 Blender, you can batch make some simple but delicious recipes that will keep in the fridge or freezer for the next few days, including these Make Ahead Breakfast Smoothie Bags!

BRAUN MULTIQUICK 9 BLENDER

This blender is an incredible addition to any kitchen. It’s designed for comfort and control with a powerful 1000 watt motor.

The MultiQuick 9 comes with a variety of accessories designed to turn the blender into a multi-functional kitchen tool.

The 1.5L food processor bowl allows you to chop, slice, julienne and grate ingredients and also includes a kneading tool and french fry disc.

There’s also a mini chopper, a masher, a 650ml beaker for blending and pureeing and a stainless steel whisk.

At the weekend make up a few of these Smoothie Bags by adding fruit, veg and oats into a freezer bag. Remember the bag is completely re-usuable so don’t throw it away afterwards. It can be used again and again for this recipe!

Into the bags I have put:

  • Frozen berries
  • Banana
  • Spinach
  • Oats

But feel free to experiment with the ingredients depending on what kind of smoothie you and your family enjoy. Then simply seal it shut and pop into the freezer.

For this recipe I’m using the main blender along with the beaker. The beaker has a handy measuring guide on the side so you can pour your milk straight in.

Then take the bag with all your ingredients out of the freezer. Because everything is already pre-chopped and pre-measured it really couldn’t be any easier to whip up an instant breakfast.

I used coconut milk in my recipe but almond milk or cow’s milk tastes just as good too!

This recipe will serve one adult as a breakfast or can be divided between two children and served alongside some cereal or toast for a balanced breakfast.

If you try my Smoothie Freezer Bags please do leave me a comment and a star rating below. You can also share your pictures with me on on Instagram.  I always love to see your creations!
