If the constant post-school snack demands are getting you down then this recipe is for you!
A simple no bake Cornflake Bar packed with ingredients that will actually fill kids up and hopefully keep the food demands on hold until dinnertime.
You just need five ingredients to make these bars:
- Oats
- Cornflakes
- Peanut Butter
- Butter
- Honey
Plus some chocolate if you want to drizzle on top but it’s not essential.
Add the peanut butter, butter and oil to a jug or bowl and melt in the microwave.
You can also melt it in a saucepan on the hob too.
Add this mixture to a bowl with the oats and cornflakes and mix well.
Pack into a lined dish. Press down well with the back of the spoon so that the mixture compacts together.
Pop into the freezer for 45 minutes to firm up.
Drizzle on some melted chocolate and then cut into 12 slices.
Storing & Freezing
These Cornflake Bars need to be stored in the fridge as they are quite soft. They will keep in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
They also freeze really well. Store in a freezer bag or container for up to 2 months. They will defrost at room temperature in about an hour.
Nut Free Cornflake Bars
To make these bars nut you can use something like Wow Butter.
It’s completely nut free but tastes very like peanut butter.

These look good 😊 I just wanted to ask do you need to add honey or can you use alternatives to these ingredients?
