A speedy three ingredient cheese and pea pasta. Quick and easy to whip up in 10 minutes for a simple lunch or dinner for kids.
If you’re at that point in the school holidays where you’ve run out of meal ideas for the kids then know that you’re not alone! Cooking and recipes is my job but I still get tired of thinking of what to feed the family on a daily basis!
This idea is super simple and I often make it for the kids for a speedy hot lunch. It’s barely a recipe to be honest, just three ingredients! But it’s quick, easy and cheap to make too.
Ingredients & Substitutions
The three ingredients needed for this recipe are:
- Pasta – I used macaroni but any pasta shapes will work
- Frozen Peas – If your children don’t like peas then you can substitute for frozen sweetcorn or mixed frozen veggies will work too as long as they are chopped small.
- Cheese Spread – I love the Seriously Spreadable brand but any kind of cheese spread is good.
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Add the frozen peas for the last 3 minutes of cooking.
Keep a little of the pasta cooking water back before draining the pasta and peas.
Add the pasta and peas back into the saucepan and add the cheese spread, a long with a splash of the pasta water.
Mix well and add a little more pasta water until the cheese spread has melted and you get a nice sauce consistency.
Serve up immediately and watch your kid devour this tasty meal!

What kind of cheese spread do you use? I am really only seeing cream cheese spread and a pub-like spreadable cheese

My 2 year old has gotten so fussy the last couple of months and refuses a lot of the foods he used to love so I was searching for quick and easy pasta dish and came across this one. He always picks out the veg these days but somehow managed to eat some of the peas and gobbled up all the pasta which was a miracle! Thank you for the recipe and will try a hidden beg recipe next!
