Description

If your picky eater doesn’t like chicken, it may be a texture issue rather than the taste. Try this poaching method of cooking for a softer meat that’s a lot easier for children to eat.

Ingredients

  • 3 medium chicken breasts
  • 1 chicken stock pot or stock cube

Instructions

  1. Add the chicken breasts to a large saucepan and cover with cold water.
  2. Bring to the boil, reduce to a simmer and continue to cook for another 15 minutes, or a little longer if the chicken breasts are large.
  3. Remove the chicken breasts from the water with a tongs and transfer onto a chopping board.
  4. Shred the chicken into small pieces using two forks.

Notes

This cooked poached chicken will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
