Not only are these fruit & herb ice cubes a lovely way to liven up drinks, they are also a fantastic way of making water a little more interesting for kids!

So it’s officially the summer holidays here in the UK. That means no early morning school or nursery runs (yay!) but also means lots of hot and sweaty kids running around in the sunshine demanding sugary drinks (boo!).

I’m still on my quest to get my fussy eater to drink more water. I blogged about these juice ice cubes recently which went down really well and I then thought about creating loads of different ice cubes with whole fruit and herbs.

They are so simple to make and my fussy eater loved choosing which ice cubes to have in her water.

When the ice cube dissolves you are left with a lovely piece of refreshing fruit to munch on. Another sneaky way of getting some vitamins into those fussy eaters!

You don’t even have to put these into drinks. You can give them straight to your kids to suck as a quick cool-me-down.

I used some flavours which probably wouldn’t be too appealing too little taste buds but you can keep those for the adults.

I made a lovely lemon, ginger and chilli sparkling water one morning when I was feeling a bit tired and it really perked me up!
