Did you know that you can cook a whole butternut squash in the slow cooker or crockpot? Super simple and it saves all that hassle trying to cut it raw!

I love butternut squash. It’s probably one of my favourite vegetables at the moment and I’m always trying to find new ways to use and of course to get the kids to eat it!

But peeling and chopping a raw squash can be an absolute nightmare!

I’ve had many near-misses where I’ve nearly lost a finger as the skin and the flesh is so tough to cut through.

I’m using my slow cooker for so many things at the moment so I thought why not trying cooking a whole butternut squash in it?!

It was so easy. You literally just pop the squash in and cook it on low for 5 – 6 hours or high for 3-4.

When it’s done, simply allow it to cook before removing the squash and cutting it half.
