A healthy chocolate chia shake for kids packed with energy boosting chia seeds!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nKids love a chocolate shake right?! They don’t have a reputation for being the healthiest of snacks but there is a way to make your own at home without any of the usual added nasties or refined sugar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI’ve added to chia seeds to my chocolate shake, often referred to as being the most nutritious foods on the planet. <\/p>\n\n\n\nThey are packed full of fibre, protein, Omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can usually buy two types of chia seeds; black and white. <\/p>\n\n\n\nBlack seeds are the whole seeds whereas as white chia seeds have been de-husked. <\/p>\n\n\n\nI’ve included 1 tablespoon of chia seeds in my recipe but if your children are not used to eating them then I would recommend starting off with a smaller amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nSubstitutions:<\/h2>\n\n\n\nI used cows milk and greek yogurt in my recipe, but you can also make a dairy free version by swapping the cows milk and greek yogurt with the following alternatives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\nalmond milk<\/li>\n\n\n\nsoy milk<\/li>\n\n\n\noat milk<\/li>\n\n\n\ncoconut milk<\/li>\n\n\n\ndairy free greek yogurt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nDuring the summer I often use a frozen banana and also some frozen yogurt to make the shake extra cold!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nFor the full recipe check out the video or written instructions below.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAnd\u00a0don\u2019t forget to subscribe to my\u00a0YouTube Channel<\/a> <\/span>to stay up to date on all my videos!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\nAnd if you try this recipe please do let me know what you think.
