So the new school year is back in full swing and I have to admit that all those lazy summer mornings are coming back to haunt me!

Allowing my fussy eater to lounge around in her pj’s and eat breakfast at her leisure for a whole 6 weeks was lovely! But we’re struggling to pick up the pace now that we need to be up, fully dressed, fed and out the door before 9am!

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but sometimes it’s also the hardest one to come up with as parents as we always seem to be in a rush in the mornings!

So in an attempt to make our morning routine a little less hectic I’m trying to find some new healthy breakfast ideas that are super quick and easy.

"banana

First up is this delicious Choco-Banana Breakfast Smoothie.

It’s packed full of energy with the oats and banana giving kids a natural energy boost.

It’s also low GI too, giving sustained release throughout the morning, making it the perfect start to the day.

Milk is of course an excellent source of protein as well as healthy fats and the *cocoa provides natural antioxidants and nutrients.

*Just make sure it’s 100% cocoa and not the added sugar hot chocolate kind.

I used cows milk but you can use any milk of your choice. You could easily use the following alternatives for dairy free and vegan versions:
