The easiest Sausage & Lentil Casserole recipe, all cooked up in the slow cooker with Very Lazy Paste Pots

In brand partnership with Very Lazy

Slow Cooker Sausage & Lentil Casserole with Very Lazy Paste Pots

At this time of year you can’t beat a delicious warming Sausage Casserole, and it’s even better when cooked for hours in the slow cooker.

For this recipe I’ve partnered with Very Lazy who have brought out a range of Slow Cooking Paste Pots, only available in Tesco.

These paste pots are packed full of flavour, making it so easy to throw together a delicious family meal in no time at all.

Very Lazy Slow Cooking Paste Pots

For this recipe I’m using the Sausage & Lentil Casserole Paste Pot, but there are three other flavours in the range:

Paste Pot Available Flavours:

  • Aromatic Thai Chicken Curry;
  • Chicken & Chorizo Stew; and
  • Harissa Lamb Tagine
Very Lazy Slow Cooker Paste Pots

The Paste Pots contain all the flavour you need for your slow cooker dish, so you just need to add the main ingredients. For this Sausage & Lentil Casserole you will need:

  • Cumberland sausages (or veggie sausages)
  • Pancetta
  • Onion
  • Tinned Tomatoes
  • Green (or Puy) Lentils
  • Water
  • Parsley
Ingredients for Slow Cooker Sausage and Lentil Casserole

To cook, simply pop all the ingredients into the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours. This recipe can also be cooked in a conventional oven in a roasting tin, lightly covered with kitchen foil at 150c for 3-4 hours.

To serve I toasted some slices of ciabatta bread on a grill pan, perfect for dipping and mopping up all those lovely juices!

This dish went down an absolute storm in my house. My kids can be a bit funny about lentils but they gobbled a big bowl up and my daughter even had seconds!

Easy Slow Cooker Sausage & Lentil Casserole Recipe

Very Lazy Paste Pots come in packs of three pots and are exclusively available to buy in Tesco for £2.

Hi Tanya, I’ve just had a look and Maggi do a sausage casserole mix, which I believe is available in Australia. or any other sausage casserole mix would work. Happy cooking.

We made this for dinner on the weekend and it was super easy! Probably the easiest recipe I’ve ever followed. So nice be able to pop it all in the slow cooker and then just come back to a really tasty and hearty dinner at the end of the day. Perfect for this time of year too! Will be trying the Chicken & Chorizo one too!
