Description

A simple sausage and cheese pasta recipe that’s perfect for hot school lunches

Ingredients

  • 70g pasta
  • spray oil
  • 1 chicken sausage
  • 40g frozen peas
  • 30g grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the food flask by filling it with boiling water and closing the lid tightly.
  2. Add the pasta to a saucepan on the hob with boiling water and cook according to the package instructions.
  3. Add a little spray oil to a frying pan. Cut the skin off the sausage and add to the frying pan, breaking it up into small pieces.
  4. Cook for about 3 minutes then add the frozen peas along with 50ml of the water that the pasta is cooking in.
  5. Continue to cook for another 2 minutes, then add the grated cheese and stir well.
  6. Drain the pasta and add that to the frying pan, mixing everything together well.
  7. Remove the water from the food flask then add the pasta, closing the lid quickly.

Notes

This pasta is best eaten on the same day that it is made. However leftovers can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave until piping hot.
