Rice Cake Animals! A fun and healthy snack for kids and toddlers made with rice cakes, peanut butter and fruit.

Rice Cake Animals! A fun and healthy snack for kids and toddlers made with rice cakes, peanut butter and fruit | My Fussy Eater blogI wrote last week about how I have been getting lots of requests lately for more healthy snack ideas for kids. Lets face it, kids like to snack… a lot! And unless we parents are prepared it can be too easy to just give in to the chocolate bar they are screaming for in the shop!

So today I thought I would share another quick and easy snack idea that’s fun and healthy too. This isn’t really a portable snack and is best made and eaten at home but it doubles up as a great activity for kids. Let their imaginations run wild creating fun animal faces with fruit!

Rice Cake Animals! A fun and healthy snack for kids and toddlers made with rice cakes, peanut butter and fruit | My Fussy Eater blogI used bananas, strawberries and blueberries to make my animal faces but depending where in the world you are right now those fruits may not be available. The beauty of this snack is that it can be made with whatever fruit you have available to you. Some dried fruits will work well too. If your kids can’t have peanut butter then try jam or cream cheese instead.

Just a little disclaimer on the cat face – if you make it with uncooked spaghetti like I did, just watch out when serving it to toddlers and young children!

If you make your own Rice Cake Animals please do let me know what you think. Or tag me in a picture on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I’d love to see your pictures!

I made something similar the other day. Used yoghurt instead of peanut butter and just made a nice pattern. Might try the faces next week 🙂
Love your blog. I don’t have fussy eaters but we all love healthy food.
