A fun cheese snack for toddlers and older kids made with Organix Cheese Stars, fresh cheese and veggies | My Fussy Eater blogI love getting creative with my kids’ food. It really is such a brilliant way to spark their imaginations and get them excited about what’s on their plate.

Both of my children are cheese monsters so I instantly knew that they would love this Man in the Moon Fun Plate made with Organix Cheese Stars, fresh cheese and veggies. All you need is four Organix cheese stars, a couple of slices of cheese to cut a moon and some extra stars, a slice of cucumber, half a cherry tomato and a few cooked carrot batons.

Check out the short video below showing you just how easy it is to try this yourself at home.

You’ll find this Man in the Moon Plate and lots more fun and imaginative ideas for finger foods on the Organix Recipes Site.  You can share your own fun food plate ideas by adding the hashtag #organixfoodfun on Twitter or Instagram!

Description

A fun cheese snack for toddlers and older kids made with Organix Cheese Stars, fresh cheese and veggies

Ingredients

  • 4 Organix Cheese Stars
  • 2 wide slices of cheese
  • ½ cherry tomato
  • 1 slice cucumber
  • 1 carrot

Instructions

  1. Peel the carrot and cut into batons about 4cm long. Drizzle with oil and roast in a moderately hot oven for about 10-15 minutes until golden. Using a sharp knife cut 2 slices of cheese from the largest face of the block. Then use a smaller knife to cut a moon shape and 3 star shapes from the cheese.
  2. Put the Organix cheese stars onto a dark blue plate like stars in the night sky.
  3. Add the sliced cheese moon and stars.
  4. Finally, make a man to sit in the moon using the half cherry tomato for his head, the cucumber slice for his body, 2 roasted carrot batons for his legs and another bent into an arm shape.
