No Bake Mini Peanut Butter Oat Cups topped with chocolate. The perfect snack sized treat for kids and easy to make nut free too.

Butter oat cakes arranged in a metal lunchbox with four compartments, accompanied with fresh berries and cucumber sticks.

My son has been loving those mini flapjacks that you buy in the supermarket recently. The sugar content is super high and they’re not massively cheap to buy either so I decided to try make my own at home instead.

They were really easy to make using just five ingredients that you may already have in your cupboard.

Plus no cooking required which is always a bonus!

Close up for butter oat cups.

How To Make Mini Chocolate Oat Cups

For this recipe I used a silicone mini muffin tray. You can find the same one here.

The first step is to add oats to a bowl. Just plain porridge oats or rolled oats are fine.

Bowl of porridge oats.

Add peanut butter, honey and butter to a small jug or bowl and melt in the microwave.

If you want to make these Oat Cups nut free then use Wow Butter. So far it’s the best nut free alternative that I’ve found.

You can buy it in the UK on Amazon or at health food shops like Holland & Barrett.

Peanut butter, Honey and butter in a small pyrex jug.

Pour the melted peanut butter, honey and butter into the oats and mix well.

All ingredients being mixed together in a bowl.

Use a small spoon to fill the muffin tray about three quarters full.

Then press down with the back of the spoon to make them compact as possible.

Freeze for 1 hour.

Ingredients added to a light blue silicone mini muffin tray.

After an hour, remove from the freeze and add some melted chocolate on top.

Place in the fridge for 10 minutes to set the chocolate.

Chocolate added to the top of each cup.

And the result is these delicious mini peanut butter oat cups.

So tasty and perfect for a snack at home or to send to school if you make them nut free.

Storing Instructions

This recipe makes 24 mini cups so it’s perfect for batch cooking snacks for the kids.

They will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

They will defrost at room temperature in less than an hour.

I have steel cut oats. Can I still use it without cooking?

Hi Miya, We don’t think the recipe would work with steel cut oats as they are nuttier and chewier than other types of oats. We hope this helps.
