Enjoying the run up to Christmas with some of my favourite festive traditions and an impromptu party with Advocaat Snowballs #ad
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without traditions; those special moments that you share with family and friends and look forward to year after year. We all have different festive traditions, some old, some new but all still equally as special.
With a young family (my children are 5 and 2). we’re still finding our feet with Christmas and deciding what festive traditions of our own that we want to enjoy every year. But one tradition that’s a must for us is our annual Christmas jumper photo! These photos of us all, looking a bit silly in our Christmas jumpers always makes me smile and I can’t wait to look back at a whole collection of them in years to come!
Another tradition that we seem to have started, albeit accidentally, is eating a carpet picnic of finger food (and always these Sticky Asian Cocktail Sausages!) for dinner in the living room whilst watching a Christmas movie and decorating the tree. The kids absolutely love this as it’s such a treat for them and it makes a brilliant start to the Christmas festivities for all of us.
A brand new tradition that I have started with friends this year was an impromptu Christmas Card Writing party. It may sound a little odd but the idea was to get a group of friends around, have some cocktails and nibbles and we could all write our Christmas cards. I don’t know about you guys but sometimes I find writing cards a bit tedious, especially if you have so many to do but getting together a group of friends over for a Christmas cocktail made it so much more fun!
I made these delicious Advocaat Snowballs which were the perfect festive tipple to enjoy whilst we wrote our cards and had a good natter. It’s sweet and creamy but refreshing light at the same time making it just the drink to start getting into the Christmas spirit!
This particular recipe is a contemporary twist on the classic Snowball cocktail and you can see just how easy it is to make yourself at home in the recipe box below.
Warninks Advocaat is available in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose and any good convenience stores at an RRP of £11.00 for a 70cl bottle.
