Cheese & Tomato Pasta – Hot Lunch Recipe

Description

A simple but tasty Cheese & Tomato Pasta, perfect to add to food flasks for a hot lunch for kids at school or nursery


Ingredients

  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 180g pasta
  • 60g grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Fill a food flask with boiling water, close the lid and leave for 15 minutes to heat the flask.
  2. Cook the pasta in a saucepan on the hob according to the package instructions.
  3. Add the tinned tomatoes, oregano, smoked paprika and a little salt and pepper to another saucepan and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  4. When the pasta is cooked, drain it and mix with the tomato sauce.
  5. Remove the water from the food flask and add the pasta, layering it with some grated cheese.
  6. Add the lid to the food flask immediately to keep the pasta warm.
