Caprese Christmas Wreath

This delicious and fun Caprese Christmas Wreath makes a tasty starter for Christmas dinner and is brilliant for festive drinks and nibbles too.

Christmas Day is looking a little different for a lot of us this year but that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy some delicious food.

If you’re looking for something easy but impressive to serve up as nibbles on the day or as a starter then why not try my Caprese Christmas Wreath.

How to Make A Caprese Christmas Wreath

The ingredients are pretty simple. You will need some cherry tomatoes, mini mozzarella balls and some fresh basil leaves.

In the middle of the wreath is a balsamic glaze which is made by simmering balsamic vinegar and honey on the hob for about 12 minutes.

Add the bowl that you are going to serve the glaze in to the middle of a round plate.

You will also need some wooden or bamboo cocktail sticks. Simply take a stick and skewer on a tomato, a mini mozzarella ball and a basil leaf.

Arrange the skewers on the plate around the bowl.

Once you’ve added all the skewers you can fill in the gaps with the remaining basil leaves. This is totally optional but it does help to make the plate look extra pretty!

Then simply add the balsamic glaze to the bowl and it’s ready to serve! Serve it immediately or the wreath will keep in the fridge for up to 6 hours if you want to make it in advance.

This Caprese Wreath looks so impressive but only takes about 15 minutes to make. It’s ideal for a snack or nibbles on Christmas Day or as an easy and informal starter. Put the plate down on the table and let everyone help themselves!

The skewers can be sharp and the tomatoes are obviously whole so be sure to remove the food and cut the tomatoes and mozzarella in half if feeding to young children.
