Baked Pancake Pots

Jump To Recipe Print Recipe

Easy pots of baked pancakes, topped with berries and chocolate chips. Delicious for a simple breakfast or snack for the kids

If your kids love pancakes but you find yourself spending ages at the hob making and flipping them, try these really easy Pancake Pots instead.

Just add the ingredients to a small dish and bake in the oven. No need to stand over the hob for ages and everything gets mixed in the dish they are cooked in, so minimal washing up too.

How To Make Individual Pancake Pots

The full recipe is in the recipe card towards the end of this post but I've also included some step-by-step photos here too. These might be especially helpful for children who want to make this recipe themselves.

  1. Add yogurt, egg, milk and honey to a small oven proof dish like these glass pots.
  1. Mix with a small whisk or a fork.
  1. Add flour, baking powder, chocolate chips and chia seeds and mix again.
  1. Top with berries and chocolate chips.

How To Cook Pancake Pots

Oven - Add the glass dish to a baking tray and bake in the oven for 23-25 minutes until browned on top.

Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. The glass pots will be super hot so they need to cool down before giving them to kids. Also, the inside of the pancake mixture will firm up a little more while cooking.

Airfryer - I tested cooking these in the airfryer and it didn't work for me. The top was burnt before the inside of the pancake pot was cooked. However if you have a bake setting on your airfryer that might work better.

Substitutions

Flour - Gluten free flour can be used in this recipe.

Yogurt & Milk - Can be substituted for dairy free alternatives.

Egg - You can use an egg replacer in this recipe instead.

Chia Seeds - Feel free to leave these out if you don't want to use them. The chia seeds become super soft and melt into the pancake mixture so I don't think they are noticeable. But they can easily be left out if you want.

Toppings - Use any toppings you like for these pancake pots.

Equipment

These are the small glass pots I used in this recipe. They are 370ml in size so any kind of oven proof dish of a similar size will work.

The mini whisk is not essential. You can use a fork to mix the ingredients. However I find that its really good at removing any lumps in the pancake mixture.

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp chocolate chips
  • ¼ tsp chia seeds

To top: Fresh berries and chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180c fan.
  2. Add the greek yogurt, egg, milk and honey to a small oven proof dish. I used a 370ml dish.
  3. Whisk with a small electric whisk or with a fork.
  4. Add the flour, baking powder, chocolate chips and chia seeds and mix again.
  5. Top with fresh berries and chocolate chips.
  6. Add the dish to a baking tray and bake in the oven for 23-25 minutes until the top has browned.
