Healthy waffles, sweetened only with apple. Brilliant for a nutritious breakfast for the kids.

It's that time of year where apple and cinnamon flavoured food is just the best! And the waffles make a brilliant breakfast for the kids if you want to serve up something hot on a cold morning.
Sweetened with just apple, they're low in sugar and super healthy. I pair them with some fresh berries and greek yogurt for a really nutritious start to the day.

How To Make Apple Waffles
The full recipe with all the ingredient measurements is in the recipe card towards the end of this blog post but I've also included some step-by-step photos here which might be helpful.

- Mix grated apple, egg, self raising flour, plain yogurt and cinnamon in a bowl.

- Grease a waffle maker with a little oil or butter on both sides.

- Add the mixture to the waffle maker.

- Cook for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.

Waffle Maker
This is the waffle maker I use for this recipe. I really like this one as it has inter-changeable plates so also works as a toastie maker and a panini press. Really handy if you want to save some space in your kitchen and not have multiple gadgets.

Recipe Variations
If your child doesn't like cinnamon it's totally fine to exclude it from this recipe.
