A delicious and healthy snack made with just four simple ingredients. A great alternative to ice cream for kids and perfect for the summer!
About 18 months ago I started experimenting with freezing yogurt and made this recipe for Frozen Yogurt Bark that I’ve been making for my kids ever since. And it seems lots of you guys have been enjoying it too as its been shared over 150,000 times on Pinterest…. crazy!
So for this summer I thought it was about time that I tried out some new flavours. Anything chocolate is always a winner in my house and so I’ve come up with a delicious new Chocolate Banana Frozen Yogurt Bark recipe to enjoy as the weather starts to warm up.
This bark is super easy to make with just four natural ingredients. When the kids are shouting for ice creams in the summer it makes a great healthy low sugar alternative. You can add lots more toppings too if you like; some chopped nuts or chocolate chips would be delicious too!

We really enjoyed this. I was a little worried about people saying it was bitter, so I made it in my food processor and tossed some banana in there, as well as some peanut butter. The extra banana in the batter really helped, and let’s be honest – peanut butter makes everything better! (Unless you have an allergy, in which case I am sorry) Thanks so much! Great recipe.

Do you know how long would this last in the freezer?
Ciara Attwell says
It’s best to eat it within a month.

Can i use normal cocoa powder
Ciara Attwell says
I’m not sure what you mean by “normal” cocoa powder??
Rohan says
Sweetened cocoa powder

I tried this and even before it was completed I was skeptical after tasting the batter, my batter tasted so incredibly bitter! I followed the recipe exactly! Was it supposed to be vanilla greek yogurt or regular cocoa powder and not unsweetened cocoa powder? The plain greek yogurt and the unsweetened cocoa powder mixed together made it so so bitter! Even the honey couldn’t sweeten it up! I couldn’t eat it and had to throw it away! Something tasted way off!

I just made this and feel the same way. WAY too bitter. I drowned it in honey before eating which kind of defeats the purpose of being healthy.

Thinking to take this to an ice cream social. I’m wondering how to display it for eating but keep it from melting. Thanks
Ciara Attwell says
It does melt pretty quickly. Maybe if you lay it on ice cubes that might help?
Pam says
Thanks. That’s what I did. I put it in a bowl on top of a bowl of ice. Stayed pretty frozen that way.

So I tried it, and mine was really disgusting! I had to throw it all away. When you 1st bite into it there was no flavor, then a horrible after taste. Could it have been a certain kind of plain greek yogurt? I only had 1.5% fat (lowfat) plain greek yogurt. What brand did you use? Did you and your kids like the taste of yours?
Ciara Attwell says
I always use full fat greek yogurt. The low fat version is just too watery.

Bananas and chocolate are the best together! This is such a great idea!

Hi, do you know how many calories does this have?
And can i use low fat greek yogurt?
Ciara Attwell says
I don’t know the calories sorry but if you input it into any online calorie counter it should tell you. I’ve only used full fat greek yogurt. You can use fat free or low fat if you like but it will probably have more ice crystals in it.
Britt says
Do you use vanilla greek yogurt or plain?
Ciara Attwell says
plain
Lisa says
Love the sound of this. Think it would work with coconut milk yogurt???
Ciara Attwell says
Hi Lisa, I’m not sure if it would work as I have never tried it. Please do let me know how you get on if you try it.
