Breakfast at this time of year can be a bit of a battle in our house. We’re all still getting used to the new back-to-school routine of getting up early, eating a good breakfast and getting out the door on time.

Having a few quick and easy options available to feed myself and the kids is key to avoiding a family meltdown pre-8am!

I’ve teamed up with Planted who have launched a new range of dairy free milk drinks which include a Coconut Drink with Cocoa and an Oat Drink with Banana. Delicious, kid-friendly and healthy too!

Both these drinks are fortified with calcium (essential for maintenance of normal bones and teeth), vitamin D (for absorption of calcium and phosphorous) and vitamin B₁₂ (for normal function of the immune system). Both drinks are dairy free and the Coconut with Cocoa drink is also gluten free.

The drinks taste delicious on their own but I thought they’d also be perfect to use in a really quick and easy breakfast recipe. And you don’t get much quicker or easier than Overnight Oats!

There’s various ways of making overnight oats but it basically involves soaking rolled oats in milk and/or yogurt and adding various flavourings and toppings.

The Planted drinks are ideal to use as they already contain lots of flavour, so I only needed to add the oats and leave them overnight or for a minimum of 1 hour in the fridge. In the morning simply take them out and add some fruit toppings if you like and serve immediately. You can also pop a lid on the jar and take them to eat out-and-about or at work.

If you try my Overnight Oats recipe then please do leave me a comment and a star rating below. You can also share your pictures with me on Instagram.  I always love to see your creations!

These drinks are available at Asda (£2.20 for a 1 litre carton with 2p for every carton going to the Woodland Trust). Smaller, ready to drink cartons as well as two more flavours are due to be released soon.

Disclosure: I have been compensated for my time spent working on this campaign with Planted but all thoughts and opinions are honest and are my own.
