Make a fun and healthy snack for kids with just crackers, black olives and cream cheese!
If you follow the blog regularly you may remember the post I wrote last week about bringing you a series of healthy snack and meal ideas to serve to kids using olives.
Last week I shared my recipe for this super cute Cheese, Veggie & Olive Hummus Wrap and this week is all about creating a quick and easy snack for kids using olives.
Why Are Olives So Great?
So what’s so great about olives and why should our kids be eating them? First up they are filled with vitamins and antioxidants that help to protect cells against diseases and work to keep your child healthy and happy.
Secondly, black olives are also packed full of iron which is an essential nutrient for growing children.
To make this snack all you need are some crackers (I used Ritz crackers but any kind will do), some cream cheese and pitted black olives (For very young children, I’d recommend rinsing some of the salty brine from the olives first).
If you give this idea try please do let me know what you think. Or tag me in a picture on Instagram I’d love to see your pictures!

These are so adorable! My little one didn’t really like the olives so we then tried them with tomatoes and cucumber and she was really pleased with them. So creative.

This is such a cute snack idea! I love olives but I can imagine some kids would refuse to eat them. This is a great way to make food more fun! I hope when I have kids I can be this creative when it comes to meal times 😛
