Make a fun and healthy snack for kids with just crackers, black olives and cream cheese!
If you follow the blog regularly you may remember the post I wrote last week about teaming up with Fragata. Together we are bringing you a series of healthy snack and meal ideas to serve to kids using their fantastic range of olives.* Last week I shared my recipe for this super cute Cheese, Veggie & Olive Hummus Wrap and this week is all about creating a quick and easy snack for kids using olives.
So what’s so great about olives and why should our kids be eating them? First up they are filled with vitamins and anti-oxidants that help to protect cells against diseases and work to keep your child healthy and happy. Secondly black olives are also packed full of iron which is an essential nutrient for growing children.
To make this snack all you need are some crackers (I used Ritz crackers but any kind will do), some cream cheese and Fragata Pitted Black Olives. (For very young children, Fragata recommend rinsing some of the salty brine from the olives first).

- Cream cheese
- Fragata pitted black olives
- Take two crackers and spread with a little cream cheese. Cut two black olives in half to make the hands and feet for the bear. Slice another black olive to make the eyes, ears, nose and mouth.
- Serve immediately.
